Pot roast is one of our favorite meals. I think everyone has their favorite way of preparing a pot roast, but I want to share with you the easiest, tastiest, most delicious way that I’ve found. It’s part of my weekly meal plan because my family loves it so much!
You can easily prepare pot roast on the stove or in the oven, but I love this recipe the best since I can prepare it as we travel in our motorhome. I put it in the crockpot, add a few special ingredients, and let it do it’s thing!
I have to tell you, within a short time, the smell is amazing!
Here’s how I make it.
Delicious recipe for slow cooker beef roast

Yes, it’s that time! Crock pot, soups, and stews!!
This looks delicious, can’t wait to try it! Seems like something I could just pop in before work, and come home to an awesome dinner. Thanks for sharing
There are few things that smell better in the kitchen on a cold day! PS ~ my husband’s dream is for us to vacation in a motorhome. I keep seeing us as the family in the movie “RV”…. thinking we may need some driving lessons first.
Have a super start to your week!
I love pot roast meals! This looks great.
Good crock pot recipes are always nice to have on hand!
I needed a reminder to pull out the crockpot; now that my kids are gone I sometimes fail to take advantage of this appliance which used to be a staple for getting weekly meals on the table. This looks wonderful and easy. Which means perfect.
I *love* crockpot roast beef. I’ve never thought to use apple cider vinegar though. I usually add a cup of coffee.
Add me to the list who LOVES to smell pot roast cooking!!! I’m going to try your recipe next time Robyn
I LOVE your way and am totally going to try it next time. That is one good looking pot roast!
Okay Robyn, I am definitely trying this. I’ve just instituted crock-pot Wednesdays as part of my weekly planning and since I haven’t cooked much with my crock-pot I’m looking for ideas. And pot roast….yum! What do you serve yours with? Usually the pot roast I’ve made in the oven has potatoes, carrots and onions cooking alongside it. Just curious what you dish yours up with.
This just might be easy enough for me to do… looks fantastic!
I’ve never cooked pot roast in the crock pot. How smart!!! You know my favorite part of pot roast? Roast beef sandwiches on good ol’ white bread!
Robyn-I LOVE LOVE LOVE this. Pot roast in a crock pot-YESSS!!!!!!
I love eating pot roast! I have to say though; I am completely hooked on grass fed beef. The flavor is delicious. The next time I make pot roast, I am going to try your recipe. It sounds great!
I bet this crock pot roast beef smells amazing, it sounds great!
Love using the crock pot even though it’s just The Professor and me; I’ll usually take half of whatever I’m making (including pot roast) and then freeze for another meal later down the road. HUGE timesaver! But lemme tell you, if that pot roast was cooking while I was driving down the road in a motorhome, I’d either put the thing in the ditch or I’d have to pull over and eat!!!
It’s a good thing I’m not driving that RV or we would be in a ditch for other reasons!!!
But yes, it smelled heavenly.
oh honey – lovely. What do you use for a camera. lens and lighting?
Thanks so much, Jennifer. You made my day!!! My camera is a Nikon D300s. Lens is 50mm/1.4 for food and for lighting natural as much as possible. I’m dying for lights now that the time has changed.
Our crockpot broke, but this might be the recipe to get me out there to buy a new one.
