You can use whatever salmon you have on hand. I generally make it from baked salmon or grilled salmon, but you can also use canned salmon if you like. I add all of my ingredients to the bowl of my stand mixer and get it nice and creamy and then stir in the salmon so that the final dip still has nice pieces of salmon in the dip. It makes for a bit chunkier dip. But that way, everyone can easily see what type of dip I’m serving even without having to put a card in front of it. I also notice the salmon lovers making sure to get big pieces of salmon on each of the bites!

  1. I just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. I looked up baked salmon-worcheshire dip and your webpage came up. Dreading how long it was going to take me to get to the actual ingredients, I was pleasantly surprised when the ingredients and the directions were right on top of the page!!!! You made my dinner so easy! Thank you!

We tripled the recipe with 1 pound of fresh salmon in which we poached and added liquid smoke.  Such a hit for our Thanksgiving potluck. Garnished with fresh dill. Delicious!

    1. Oh my! How big were the cans? One can of salmon was over 5 oz. Should add another?

This was great! I used a 4oz package of smoked salmon. The next day I had some leftover and made it into a Wrap by spreading it on a whole wheat tortilla topped with lettuce, wrapping it up and enjoying it that way! At first it seemed over indulgent, but then I figured hey, a sandwich usually has cheese and mayo too, so why not? Everyone loved this dip. Thanks for the Recipe!

I’ve tried many salmon dips over the years, and most of them are good, but this is by far the best I’ve tried. My kids love it too – even with the horseradish (which they don’t know is in the recipe). 🙂 Thanks Robyn!

  5. I live in Seattle. I am SO going down to Pike Place Market right now to grab some salmon and whip this up! 🙂
