Cupcakes and other bite sized foods seem to be more popular than ever. Not only are they great for parties and entertaining, but they are perfectly sized for children, too. I know my son sure loves to dig into treats that are sized just right for him. He also enjoys making them with me so when I was asked to try the Babycakes Cupcake Maker I was interested to see how well he liked it as well.
The Babycakes Cupcake Maker is a small kitchen appliance, about the size of a waffle maker, that bakes 8 cupcakes at a time in about 5-8 minutes. In addition to cupcakes, you can easily make other sweet or savory bites, too.
Little Buddy and I decided we were going to try making his favorite Chocolate Chip Waffle as waffle-cakes one morning. I think we may be on to something, y’all!
We mixed up our batter following our standard recipe and poured batter into each of the spaces.
Then closed the lid and waited about 8 minutes for our Chocolate Chip Waffle cakes to be ready. They came out sized just right for my son to dip a few into his maple syrup and allow the rest of them to cool. Once they had cooled, I popped them into a freezer bag to save them for another day when we need a quick breakfast!
Who knew that a cupcake maker could help us make one of our breakfasts in a whole new way?
But as I poured through the 175 Best Babycakes Cupcake Maker Recipes cookbook they sent me, I was impressed with all of the ideas Kathy Moore and Roxanne Wys have included.
Their cookbook includes sections dedicated to breakfast and brunch, after-school snacks, lunch and supper, and even gluten-free options. Needless to say, their cookbook gives you plenty of ways to use the cupcake maker while inspiring you to come up with your own favorite combinations.
Doesn’t that sound like a great gift idea, too? I’ve included it in my gift list and can just imagine all the possibilities for children and moms cooking together, college students, and anyone who enjoys entertaining.
