I thought my favorite stovetop potpourri combinations would be a great thing to share with you to use as you welcome guests into your home, especially this time of year. It only takes a few moments and your home will smell amazing!

Stovetop Potpourri Recipe

Stovetop potpourri fills your home with a warm, inviting fragrance in minutes. Get this favorite stovetop potpourri recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1 lemon sliced
  • 1 orange or grapefruit peels or sliced
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 tablespoon whole cloves
  • water

Instructions

  • Toss lemon slices, orange and/ or grapefruit peels or slices, cinnamon sticks, and whole cloves into a small saucepan. Cover with water, plus about 3 inches.
  • Heat over low heat and allow to simmer, refilling water throughout the day as needed. Each day, replace spent ingredients with fresh.

  1. Merry Christmas Eve! It has been a tradition at our house to have a saucepan of “smell good” going on the stove as soon the Clemetines hit the store. Their peelings with cinnamon sticks, cloves and water simmer away. I use an old inexpensive pan because we have been known to scorch it at least once during the season ~ gotta keep adding more water is an important factor!! Haha
