Fall Decorating {Mustard}

At the end of each season, it seems like I’m ready to tackle major home improvement projects around our house from painting, decluttering and reorganizing, rearranging spaces, to bringing in decorations for the upcoming season.

Seasonal catalogs and magazines are flooding my mailbox lately and I’ve loved leafing through them for ideas and items to put on my home decorating to do list. Just like last week when I shared some of my favorite clothing and accessories colors for this Fall, I’ve noticed some specific trends for the home.

One key color I am happy to be continuing for home decor is the color mustard.

Martha Stewart provides the perfect example of a beautiful, classic, traditional room in the deep yellow color.

This cabinet from IKEA caught my eye when I first saw it a while back, but then I saw it again on Pinterest and fell in love with it all over again. Such a fun cabinet and just the perfect pop of color.

Speaking of Pinterest, I saw this gorgeous mustard headboard that had been pinned from the blog Oh, Hello Friend. I’m not sure of the original source, but absolutely adore it. {I kinda got lost in all of the fabulousness when I visited, you’ll soon see why.}

For a beautiful, handmade and completely unique headboard, I loved the touch of mustard included in this one from Style-Files.

This color is a key part of the color palate in my house where it is darkest in the kitchen, breakfast, and dining rooms.

I’m glad I’ll still be in style a little bit longer.

But I bet my husband is even happier.

For even more mustard inspiration, head on over to my Pinterest page. I’d love to connect with you there.

    GREAT colors! Cassie from Bake your Day sent this to me via Stumble Upon. She sent it on twitter and I told her if I did my own decorating the colors I would pick would be “ugly” and “yuk”.
