Ingredients to make easy fruit salad recipe.

Fruit Salad Ingredients

  • Fresh fruit. This recipe uses 5 cups of fresh fruit. You can customize the fruits to your personal preferences. You want to be sure to include a variety of colors. Think red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple. I like to start with a base of our favorite – strawberries, blueberries, grapes, pineapple. Then, I add another juicy fruit that is in season, such as apples, raspberries, blackberries, mandarine oranges, mangos, or kiwis.
  • Creamy Yogurt Dressing. You’ll need 1/2 cup each of vanilla yogurt and whipped cream.

How to Make Easy Fruit Salad

Prep. Clean all of my fresh fruit and cut as needed. See my recipe tip below for how to wash fresh berries. Pat the fruit dry with a paper towel to make sure that there is no water clinging to the fruit. Any water left on the fruit will cause the dressing not to coat the fruit and be a bit gloppy in the bowl. Add the washed and dried fruit to a large mixing bowl.

Make the dressing and add to the fruit. Add the vanilla yogurt and whipped cream to the fruit.

Assemble the fruit salad. Fold the dressing ingredients into the fresh fruit to coat completely. Refrigerate or serve immediately.

How to Wash Fresh Berries

Wash your fresh berries in a medium bowl filled with 2/3 cup of water and 1 teaspoon of baking soda. Allow to soak for about 12 – 15 minutes and then rinse in a colander with cool water until clean.

Storage Tips

Make Ahead. Prepare the fruit salad and store it in an airtight container or in a bowl wrapped well with plastic wrap for up to 3 days.

Leftovers. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
