Crab Salad Recipe from addapinch.com

What is it about crab salad? It is so light, flavorful, and extremely versatile. It is perfect for everything from a light luncheon or picnic to a large tailgating event or even when entertaining over the holidays.

Crab salad comes together in just a few minutes, but makes an impression that lasts. For entertaining large groups, I like to serve it in small tomatoes that have been hollowed out and a dollop of crab salad has been spooned inside. It makes a beautiful presentation and always seems to disappear quickly.

Crab salad stuffed little tomatoes really is finger food at its finest!

For smaller groups or luncheons, it is great served in larger tomatoes or on a Bibb lettuce leaf or just alongside sliced avocados and tomatoes. And for more casual get-togethers, I love crab salad in a tuna melt fashion to take that classic lunch favorite up a notch or two.

See? I told you it was versatile and perfect for so many occasions.

I absolutely love it. It just calls to me.

    1. Jocelyn, that would be one rib or individual stalk of celery. Thanks for bringing that to my attention.

  1. This is a savory crab meat recipe that is very easy to assemble. I used claw meat, and added ‘tanjin,’ a fruity chamoy hot sauce. Served chilled with avocado, pineapple, and lettuce, with almond crackers on the side. . . Delicious! This turned out to be a great Sunday afternoon treat. Thank you for sharing.

  2. This recipe was absolutely delicious. My only change was I added a little mustard, as I typically do this with my crab cake mixture. Thank you for this!

This particular crab salad recipe caught my 👁 I like the old bay and Worcestershire additions. Typically I would add a few other powdered spices instead and it is boring, always the same. Thanks for the additional flavors. Gonna make for lunch. Only thing I am missing is the lemon zest. Should be OK w/o but next time I will be making canapés for a party in phyllo cups and will make sure I have the 🍋 for zest.

  4. Hi. It’s probably because I used canned crab meat but I found I had to add both salt and a little bit of sugar to round out all the flavors.
But other than that it was really good.
    Thank you.

I have made crab salad for years!  This is the best recipe ever!  This is my new go-to! All the taste of crab with just enough seasoning to enhance flavor. Great balance and very bright which I love!

Made this crab salad recipe for a party and stuffed it into jumbo pasta shells. A big hit!

  7. This salad is calling my name! And yes, the pic is beautiful.

I’ve been experimenting with lump crab (minus the mayo) lately. This one is going on my must try list.
