Have you played marbles lately? I have to admit, it had been a while for us. Today during one of our breaks, since it was raining outside, we decided to play a game of marbles. I’m sure it was because my husband taught Little Buddy’s Scout den how to play earlier in the week.

I’ll tell ya, marbles just never go out of style. They are just a good old classic game that you really should think about playing sometime.

My husband’s Scout den full of eight and nine year old little boys were all pretty excited about learning the game and getting their very own set of marbles to play at home. From what I understood, you would have thought they were playing the latest electronic game or something.

Maybe that just goes to show that children still like the simple things.

So today, Little Buddy had to demonstrate his awesome marble playing skills and show me a thing or two about how to play.

He beat me hands down every game we played.

I even had my lucky shooter.

But had no luck against Little Buddy.

He knows how to play marbles, y’all.

Little Buddy’s new puppy, Ranger, took in every move we made, too. We kept a close eye on him to make sure he didn’t steal the marbles. I thought he and Little Buddy might have the game rigged or something.

Next time you are in the dollar store, why not grab a set of marbles and teach your children how to play. It’s a lot of fun and sure makes great memories.

Please note – marbles are a choking hazard to small children and pets. Care should be taken when playing marbles with children of any age.
