Pinewood Derbies bring out a ton of creativeness in little boys, I think. It’s one of my favorite activities that our Scout Pack has each year.

The boys are so proud of their cars – with their artistic designs, carving, painting and accessories. Each car is as unique as it’s sweet, rambunctious owner.

I love looking at each boy’s car. I think they say a whole lot about them.

And asking them to tell you about their cars brings a burst of enthusiasm from every one of them as they tell you all about how they designed, painted, sanded, and spruced up their cars.

This owner of this car told me he painted and sanded, painted and sanded, and painted and sanded his car some more to get such a glossy, sleek finish. He was pretty proud of himself for all of his hard work.

I was pretty proud of my baby boy, too.

If your children aren’t in Scouts, you can check with your church or local public school for contact information for Scouting in your area.
