Pie Crust Recipe

How to make the best easy flaky pie crust that consistently makes a perfect pie dough every time!

A family favorite recipe for generations!

– All-purpose flour – Kosher salt – Shortening – Butter



Butter a 9-inch pie plate and set aside.


In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt.


Prepare the pie dough

Cut in butter and shortening with a pastry cutter or two forks until the mixture resembles a coarse meal, coarse crumbs, or has pea-sized pieces of butter and shortening.



Gradually add enough ice-cold water (a tablespoon at a time) while mixing with a wooden spoon until a ball of dough is formed.

Turn out the pie dough ball onto a lightly floured sheet of plastic wrap or parchment paper and form into a disk.


Roll out the pie dough
