Learn how to make crispy, delicious homemade sweet potato fries! Tossed with olive oil and salt and ready in minutes. Oven Baked and Air Fryer options!
Prep the Sweet Potatoes. Peel, cut off the ends, and then slice the sweet potatoes lengthwise into 1/4-inch slices. Then, turn the slices onto their sides so that they are situated flat side on the cutting board. Slice into uniform-sized fries for even cooking.
Toss the Potatoes. Add the uncooked sweet potato fries to a baking sheet. Drizzle with the olive oil and add the salt. Toss to make sure that all of the fries are coated.
Air Fryer Sweet Potato Fries
Preheat the air fryer to 400º F. Arrange the potatoes in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Once the air fryer is heated, cook for 8 to 12 minutes, tossing as needed to make sure that all of the fries cook uniformly. Extend the cooking time until all are cooked evenly. (With my air fryer, it takes 10 minutes, but the time will depend on the size of the sweet potato fries and your particular air fryer.)
Oven Sweet Potato Fries
Preheat the oven to 425º F. Arrange the potatoes in a single layer on a baking sheet. Once the oven is heated, cook them for 20 minutes. Turn the fries using a metal spatula and cook for 10 – 15 more minutes. Watch the fries closely at this stage as they can burn easily.
