I have to ask… Just what are those chopped candies on top in the pic.. I am intrigued lol
I have made it a couple times now and love the flavor. But, it’s so much harder than real magic shell when frozen. I’ve been using the solid form of coconut oil, and I’m wondering if i should hunt the store for a liquid form? Or add vegetable oil to the mix? It freezes like crack a tooth hard.
For those who don’t like the taste of coconut oil, there’s also refined which is flavorless.
Also, I had this idea some time ago. All I can say is, “I knew it!” 🙂
Just found you, would love to subscribe!
I made this last night. LOVED IT! Has anyone tried this with mint chips or peppermint extract?
How do I store this, fridge??? This is SO delicious!!!
Hi Teresa,
I keep mine stored in an airtight container on the kitchen counter. You can certainly store in an airtight container in the refrigerator as well. Just reheat in warm water or in the microwave for a few seconds when ready to use again. So glad you love it!!
This looks amazing and I’m so excited to try this, but one question can you taste the coconut oil? My husband HATES the taste of coconut.
Hi Bretany,
If he is super sensitive to the flavor of coconut, he may be able to detect a slight hint of the flavor. You could substitute with equal amounts of vegetable oil.
You can buy non flavoured coconut oil, I hate coconut oil too but I use non flavoured and it came out perfect!
I’ll be doing this with half chocolate and half pb chips. Then I’ll take it to my mom’s next time she makes homemade ice cream! So excited.
