It seems like anytime there is a get together, you can depend on there being dips of just about every variety. Spinach dip, buffalo dip, cheese dip, shrimp dip, well, you get the picture. Right? And while I’ve never met a dip I didn’t love, a fruit tray with a great dip just always steals the show for me!

Maybe it’s because I always think anything on a wedge of apple or pear has to be better for me than something scooped up on a big ole corn chip. Even though those big ole corn chips are mighty delicious, too!

But if y’all make and take this fruit dip to any gathering, you might want to just watch out because when I do, it gets gobbled up faster than anything else on the table. Even the men love this stuff! And since it takes all of five minutes to whip up and five ingredients (not including the fruit), it is one of those appetizers that I find myself making again and again!

Oh my stars, I think it’d probably be good on a corn chip, too now that I think about it!

Way too much sugar in your recipe….
I use cream cheese , brown sugar , and peanut butter …tastes awesome on granny smith apples slices !

Don’t have a recipe for it tho, just stir a room temp block of cream cheese together with maybe 3 tablespoons of brown sugar and then add a few tablespoons of nut butter of choice….adding peanut butter ( smooth or chunky) makes it taste like a taffy apple !!!

Hey , switch up the sugars , more brown sugar , way less (or none at all) white sugar , and we always add a tablespoon or two (or three) of peanut butter ….with granny smith apples , it’s soooooo yummy !!

Love this! I’m squirreling it away for Thanksgiving (I am usually in charge of the appetizers) – it looks perfect! xo

I love having healthy things when kids come to visit with their parents but I also want things on the tables that kids will eat. What a winner this is!

I know I must make this! What apples do you suggest?

    1. Robyn Stone says:

      Hi Donna,
I love it with a sweet apple (honeycrisp, sweetango, etc), but my son prefers it with a more tart Granny Smith. I know that doesn’t help a whole lot other than to say, it works well with both! ๐Ÿ™‚

You can never have enough dip! It’s like two treats in one, ’cause you have the dipping object, and then the dip itself. The brown sugary flavors of this are just callin’ out to me. This is one that would totally impress the in-laws.

  8. Laura ~ Raise Your Garden says:

Easy is my love language these days. I always need to pack a “snack” for my daughters lunch each day. And the school wants only healthy snacks. But my daughter doesn’t want healthy snacks. This is a nice compromise!!! My daughter is always coming home complaining about how good the other kids snacks are and how terrible mine are! This should keep her happy.
