Pretzel bites make a delicious snack or appetizer. With just a few simple steps, these delicious pretzel bites are perfect for your next party or for snacking!
I’ve mentioned before how much my husband loves making pretzels. A guy that is most comfortable on his tractor, working in the hangar, or at the grill or smoker, I think he finds it somewhat relaxing to spend time in the kitchen making something he knows we all love so much.
And we definitely love his pretzels! We request them regularly along with his pretzel buns and those cute as can be little pretzel pigs in a blanket. We can’t get enough of them, it seems.
One way that he makes them to serve a crowd is to make these delicious little pretzel bites. They are perfect when entertaining or for when our son has friends over. There’s just something about these little pretzel bites dipped in mustard or even salted caramel sauce that those boys go nuts over!
I don’t blame them.
I do, too!
Here’s his recipe for his pretzel bites. Make ’em soon. I think you’ll love them!
Pretzel Bites Recipe
Instructions
- Prepare soft pretzel dough following the recipe through step 7.
- Preheat oven to 400ยบ F.
- Spray parchment paper lined rimmed baking sheets with nonstick cooking spray. Once dough has risen, remove dough from the bowl and divide into 8 – 12 even pieces using a bench scraper or knife. Roll into about 24 inch logs. Using your bench scraper or knife, cut pieces of the dough into 1 1/2 – 2 inch lengths, repeating until all dough has been cut.
- Add baking soda to water in a 4-quart saucepan over medium low heat. Bring to a simmer. Add pretzel pieces, about 10 at a time to the water. They will initially sink to the bottom and rise as it is ready to be removed. Using a slotted spoon, remove the pretzel bites from the saucepan and place on the parchment lined baking sheet to dry completely, about 5 minutes. Repeat until all pretzel bites have been bathed in the baking soda water.
- Brush with butter, sprinkle generously with sea salt and bake 7-10 minutes, until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and allow to rest until easy to handle. Serve warm.

i can’t get to the recipe ;( I want to make them for a super bowl party.
Hi Ronni,
Thanks for letting me know it was giving you problems to get to the recipe. I’ve updated it and it should be working now. Let me know if you have any other issues.
My boys are obsessed with soft pretzels and normally they accept no substitutes to the “real” thing (however they first tried it,in this case frozen ones) I tried your pretzel recipe 2 weeks ago tho and have had to make 3 more batches of them because they are constantly requested! I had tried other recipes before and never got a good reaction. Thank you for the wonderful recipe and for allowing me to eliminate yet another boxed food from my house! I can’t wait to see how they like these bite sized ones !
I’m so glad that your boys are loving these! They sound like my son. He’s constantly requesting them, too!
I can’t open the soft pretzel dough recipe…..is it me?
Let me know if it continues to give you problems.
I love soft pretzels, and these little bites of deliciousness look perfect as a game day appetizer! I’ll have to try these, for sure.
I hope you enjoy them! They are on our menu for sure!
Perfect timing! We’ll be making this this weekend – thank you for sharing – its hard to beat a good homemade pretzel!
These little bites are just perfect for snacking! I hope you enjoy them!
My oldest is twelve and it seems like he is always hungry. Skinny as a pole but eating constantly (oh, to be young again). I prefer homemade snacks….healthier and cheaper. We love salty snacks too. I’ll have to give these a try soon. Thanx!
I hope you all enjoy them!
