Green Tea Lemonade | addapinch.com

We’re home and slowly digging into getting back into our daily routines. Spring Break was fast, fun, and absolutely fabulous. One of my favorite things I sipped on during the week was this Green Tea Lemonade.

Refreshing and oh so delicious! I also think it gives me just a little bit of energy. Maybe from the green tea?

And, so very simple to make.

I’m sure you can make it all sorts of ways, but let me tell you how I make mine.

I’m trying to watch my sugar intake lately as well, so I’ve used stevia in place of the sugar in the lemonade and some days didn’t add any sweetener at all. You can totally use whatever you prefer. Honey would also be great and add even another layer of flavor to this drink.

Here’s my Green Tea Lemonade recipe. Hope you love it as much as I do.

Green Tea Lemonade is a refreshing, energizing drink you’ll turn to time and again.
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 3 minutes
Total Time: 8 minutes
Servings: 1

Ingredients

  • 1 bag green tea
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar, honey, or sweetener (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 cup boiling water
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice, two lemons
  • 2 tablespoons lemon zest, two lemons
  • 8 ounces cold water
  • ice
  • lemon slices, optional

Instructions

  • Add green tea bag and sugar to boiling water. Turn off heat and allow to steep for about 3 minutes to allow sugar to dissolve. Remove tea bag.
  • Stir in juice and zest of lemons and cold water.
  • Pour into large glass filled with ice. Garnish with lemon slices (optional)
  • Variation:
  • If you have a single-serve, Keurig style coffee maker, simply add your sugar to a large, empty heat-safe glass. Then, place your green tea bag into the area of your machine where a k-cup is placed. Select the smaller brewing size for your coffee cup and brew.
  • Add lemon juice and zest to your brewed green tea and stir to combine. Add cold water, ice, and stir.

Notes

If you prefer to not use sugar, simply follow the instructions of making the green tea lemonade but omit the sugar. Then, add your favorite sugar substitute to taste once made.
