This delicious Buttermilk Waffle and Pancake Mix is an easy, make ahead pantry staple! A hot stack of pancakes or waffles is quick to make and my printable recipe label makes this homemade mix perfect to share!
Waffles and pancakes are pretty frequent visitors to our breakfast table. They are always welcome and always disappear in a flash! Since my family loves them so much, I like to keep some of this Buttermilk Waffle and Pancake Mix made ahead and in my pantry. This easy mix makes the most scrumptious, light and fluffy waffles and pancakes. And you can enjoy a hot stack with butter and syrup in just minutes using this!
I’ve also included a helpful (and pretty!) printable recipe label so that you can label your jars of mix for the pantry. This also makes this homemade breakfast staple absolutely perfect to share with a neighbor as a thoughtful handmade gift!
I think once you try this, you’ll definitely want to keep a few batches on hand for busy mornings!
Buttermilk Waffle and Pancake Mix
I don’t know if you feel the same, but I find a hot stack of waffles or pancakes with butter and syrup absolutely comforting and delicious! Throw in some crispy bacon or some scrambled eggs and I’m even happier. But sometimes life is just busy! That’s just one of the reasons I almost always have this waffle and pancake mix made ahead in jars waiting for me in my pantry.
A Great Gift to Share
I know if I find having this mix on hand helpful, that there are so many others that will too. That’s why I think it makes such a thoughtful and practical gift for so many people in your life. Teachers, neighbors, friends, elderly family members or neighbors and new parents will all appreciate this! This delicious mix just makes breakfast so simple and I’ve not met many people who don’t love a delicious pancake or a waffle!
A jar of this waffle and pancake mix would be just perfect right by itself, but you could also include in a gift basket a few kitchen tools that go along with pancakes and waffles or even a bottle of maple syrup. I know if I received a gift like that, I’d absolutely love it!
Printable Cards for Labels
I created a printable that you can download and print onto card stock or a heavier weight paper. Each sheet contains two labels, so you’ll want to carefully trim each to then wrap around a quart Mason jar. The ends do not meet all the way, but that way the recipient will be able to see just how much they have left in their jar before asking for more!
Each side of the band gives easy to read and follow instruction on how to use the mix for making waffles or pancakes.
Isn’t that a cool idea? Here’s a link to download the labels.

Another tip you may personally find helpful and to pass along if you share this with someone is my recipe for making Buttermilk Substitute. It takes just a couple of ingredients and is so helpful if you’ve run out of buttermilk and don’t want to make a trip to the store right then.
So, are you ready to make these to share with a neighbor, a new mother, or to give as a homemade gift for the holidays or just to be kind? Not only is this a thoughtful gesture, this mix is so helpful to have in the kitchen too!
You might also want to whip up a batch of my Chocolate Chip Cookie Mix + Printable too so that you can enjoy that later as well!

Manisha,
You can substitute 1/4 cup of unsweetened applesauce for 1 egg. Hope this helps!
