I have a simple cake recipe I just have to share with you. It includes one of my all-time favorite flavor combinations of peanut butter and chocolate. It’s rich, decadent, and to die for. If you like peanut butter and chocolate, you absolutely will want to make this Fudge Cake with Peanut Butter Frosting soon.
Here’s how I make it.
Ingredients
Fudge Cake- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 ounce baking chocolate
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup All-Purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- pinch salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup salted cocktail peanuts
Peanut Butter Frosting- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 4 cups confectioner's sugar
- 1/3 cup cream
Instructions

Fudge Cake:- Preheat oven to 325º Fahrenheit.
- Prepare 8 inch square or small baking pan.
- Melt butter and chocolate over low heat in a small saucepan.
- Remove from heat and add sugar.
- Beat in eggs.
- Add flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Mix well.
- Add vanilla and chocolate chips. Mix well.
- Pour batter into prepared pan and bake 35 minutes.
- Remove from oven and cut while hot.
- Do not remove until cooled.
- Place one square of cake onto dessert plate, spread lightly with peanut butter frosting, sprinkle with salted cocktail peanuts. Repeat layers.
- Alternatively, you may leave fudge cake in the pan, spread lightly with peanut butter frosting and top with cocktail peanuts without repeating the layers of the cake as shown above.
Peanut Butter Frosting- Cream together butter and peanut butter until light and fluffy.
- Add in sugar and cream until well combined.
- If frosting is too thick, add in more cream to loosen the frosting.
- If frosting is too thin, add in more confectioner's sugar to thicken.
