How to Make Honey Soy Chicken Recipe
Ingredients
Be sure to see the recipe card below for the full listing of ingredients, instructions, notes, and estimated nutritional information.
For this honey soy chicken recipe, you’ll need olive oil, chicken, soy sauce (or coconut aminos), honey, garlic, salt, pepper, and ginger.
Optionally, you may want to include red pepper flakes for heat in the dish and chopped fresh parsley to add bright fresh flavor.
Recipe Notes
Chicken – You can use chicken breasts, chicken thighs, drumsticks, or even wings. Any and all work perfectly and taste amazing. You can choose to use boneless, skinless chicken or go with bone-in, skin-on pieces. Whatever suits you works great.
Optional Time to Marinate – As quick and easy as it is to mix up and make, I also love to mix up the honey-soy mixture and pour half of it over my chicken to let it marinate throughout the day before cooking. Then, as it cooks, I use the remainder of the honey-soy mixture on my chicken. While this is delicious, it isn’t absolutely necessary. The honey-soy mixture imparts so much flavor while the chicken cooks!

I had planned to do pork chops when this came in so decided to go ahead anyway with pork instead of chicken. Worked fine but as another commented, pity sauce is so thin?
Hi Valerie –
I’ve found that the leaner the meat, the thicker the sauce. The fattier the meat, the more it thins down the sauce. Not sure if that is the case with your pork chops, but could be. Thanks!
So excited about this recipe! Going to try it tonight.
Thank you Robyn for the nice recipe.
I repeat VERY FEW recipes. Just because well, there are so many out there, why?!! I can only think of maybe 6 main dishes I ever repeat….and this is now one of them. I crave it!!! SO GOOD!
I do that too, Denise. I have rarely repeated a recipe since the 1980’s. I do have a few favorites that I repeat.
Thank you, Nicole. I’m so thrilled that this is one of your favorite recipes.
And…drum roll please! His feedback, “the chicken is good!” Trust me, that’s HUGE! Yippee, thanks so much for the recipe!
So glad he loved it!!!
I made these tonight. I already sucked down two thighs and am about to serve them to my husband. Usually I care what he thinks, but not tonight. If he doesn’t LOVE these he is nuts! WOW, awesome!
Yummm! Sounds delicious. I’m making this tonight for dinner. Thx
Made this for Super Bowl. Did not turn out like your picture. Needed less soy sauce to be thicker marinade on chicken, or something ๐
Tasty and easy. Right up my alley these days!
I love easy weeknight meals, this looks scrumptious Robyn!
