Ham biscuits have graced Southern tables for generations. Every Southern bell includes these little ham biscuits in her menu for entertaining whether showers, holidays, or tailgating. This weekend, we were invited to our friends home to cheer along during the Auburn / Alabama football game. I considered taking spiced nuts, stuffed mushrooms, chicken wings, deviled eggs, or spiced caramel apple dip, but then knew ham biscuits would be the perfect party fare.
I was right. They are always a delicious part of every event where they are a part of the menu.
My family doesn’t always love the poppy seed mustard spread, so I serve it as a side spread to be added to biscuits if guests wish to use it. It’s a delicious strong spread that I’ve found best to allow guests to add rather than including on all.
Here’s how I make them.
