Okay my friends, I have something that you just have to try. I mean you HAVE to! These Chocolate Chip Cookies S’mores are out of this ever-loving world delicious and something that everybody has to have just once.

Okay, maybe twice.

But, it isn’t like anyone’s counting, right?

I’ll just act like Little Buddy was the only taste-tester. That way I won’t feel so guilty about having nibbled on one while I’m on this diet. So, let’s all just pretend that I made this only for Little Buddy and he was the only person to have eaten them.

Okay?

Now that we’re on the same page. Let me tell you about them.

First, I baked Little Buddy’s favorite recipe for  Chocolate Chip Cookies because he looked at me ever so sweetly and asked me if I would make them. I won’t even begin to tell you what a disaster the laundry room was or how the playing room looked like a bomb had gone off in it with all the toys scattered to the point you couldn’t even walk. But when he looks at me so sweetly like that, all of that laundry, dusting, and cleaning just goes to the wayside.

I figure the laundry will still be there tomorrow. Unless a fairy Godmother sweeps in overnight and takes care of it all for me or something.

But he on the other hand is growing up much too quickly. He no longer asks me to start his bath water for him in the mornings, or cut the crust off of his peanut butter and jelly sandwiches at lunch, or even pour his milk at breakfast. He’s getting big enough to do those things by himself. Those and many, many more.

So when he asks me to make him a batch of his favorite cookies. Time just stands still for long enough to make them and watch his face when he takes his first bite.

I’ll even pour the milk for this episode and relish the fact that he still lets me as he enjoys that warm cookie.

So, the other night after I’d made cookies earlier in the afternoon, he asked if we could build a fire in the fireplace and make s’mores.

Knowing how much he adores those cookies, I decided that I’d suprise him with a special little treat.

Instead of using the normal graham crackers, I popped the marshmallow and chocolate between two of his favorite cookies and then sat back and watched his eyes dance.

BUT, no matter how old they are they never stop needing you !!! Anyway, let those chores wait for tomorrow & enjoy Little Buddy!!!! The recipe sounds so darn good I’ll have to make them this weekend and call the kids over! Thanks for sharing!!!

Oh wow at first I thought that was an ice cream sandwich until I read the title. What a great idea to use cookies instead of the graham cracker!

Oooooh girl these look amazing! I don’t even really like graham crackers. Sheer genius. I definitely just added your cookie recipe to my pinterest account so I can try them out in the near future. The only ingredient I am missing is the oats!

I think I like this idea WAY better than the original Smore!!

And if Jon David asks for cookies, I say YES every dang time!! We’ve got to take it where we can get it,right?

RIGHT! I want to be remembered as the Mama who was always ready with his favorite cookies. That’s a good legacy, right?

We don’t have graham crackers down here so there’s always a hankering for s’mores. I can get my fix this way. Great idea!

    1. Robyn Stone says:

Oh Maureen, this is the perfect solution! I think I’m going to have to keep Little Buddy’s cookies in stock just for s’mores! 🙂
