A delicious recipe for Dr Pepper Roast Beef cooked in a slow cooker. Perfect for busy weeknight suppers.

Okay, before I go any further, I have to tell you that this Dr Pepper Roast Beef is by far one of the best slow cooker roast beef recipe that I have ever had.

Hands down.

I didn’t add any potatoes or carrots to this recipe. I wanted just the meat so that I could easily use any leftovers in sandwiches or other dishes later in the week. {There’s a great one coming tomorrow, so be sure to come back for it.}

I also want to tell you that my love for Coca-Cola has not faded. It’s a Georgia born and bred drink and I can’t stay away from it for long. But, Dr Pepper just adds something special to this slow cooker roast recipe.

Oh my stars does it ever.

I love putting everything in the slow cooker and heading off for my day of activities without having to worry about what we’re having for supper.

I need all the help I can get for having supper ready after a busy day.

Coming home from late football practice and now adding games to the schedule leaves me with few nights that I can leisurely cook supper – if I ever could during the week. These are the nights I am more thankful than ever for my slow cooker.

And this Dr Pepper Slow Cooker Roast Beef.

And early bedtimes.

And my DVR.

But we’ll just talk about the roast for now.

Here’s my recipe for Dr Pepper Slow Cooker Roast Beef. I think you’ll love it.

  1. Will says:

If I used a smaller size boneless roast(about 1.5lb, because I’m a cheepo, and only serving one person), should my cook time change? I figured it would take less time, but I’m not sure how much time it would take.

    1. Robyn Stone says:

Hi Will, for a 1.5 pound boneless roast, I would plan to cook it on low for about 3-4 hours. You’ll want to check it to make sure it is at that “falling apart” consistency when you touch it with your fork at that point. 🙂 If you have a newer slow cooker, I would set it on low in the morning and then have it go into the warm cycle so that it continues to get amazingly juicy throughout the afternoon. Good luck! Let me know how it goes!

  2. Chris v says:

Meat dry and flavorless? Cooked it too fast. This recipe MUST be cooked on low. If the roast is small reduce cooking time and water. Been making this since I was in college I the 70’s. Always a hit.

    1. Theresa says:

I agree. Slow cook it. Also, the dryness may have a lot to do with what cut of meat you choose.

  3. jojo says:

I made this today. It was sooooo very good. For those who dont like Dr Pepper, you really cant taste it. It gives the beef a really good taste. I used the diet Dr Pepper. I dont know if it had anything to do with it but yummo

    1. Robyn Stone says:

I’m so glad you liked it, JoJo! I’ve started using the Diet Dr. Pepper too love it!

  4. Foodie Jeff says:

If there is anything that I love more than a cold glass of Dr. Pepper it is meat. Now I see that I can marry the two. What a fabulous looking dish. I am very excited to make it.

    Thanks for sharing

  5. Lynn says:

I cooked this last night using a cherry coke instead of a dr. pepper, and the meat was very tender, but didn’t have much taste. After cooking, I made a gravy with some of the broth left in the crock pot, and it was delicious! My husband and I both loved the meat with the gravy.

    1. Robyn Stone says:

      That sounds delicious, Lynn.

  6. Kay Moore says:

Has anyone included the carrots and potatoes? Did that work ok? I would want a complete meal, if possible. This sounds great!

    1. Robyn Stone says:

Hi Kay, I have added carrots and potatoes to this before and it worked fine. They did turn a bit browner than they did otherwise from the coloring in the Dr. Pepper. Hope you enjoy it.

  7. Amanda says:

I made this yesterday and loved it! Thank you!

  8. @peoplefw says:

how about doing it in the oven, rather than a slow cooker. anyone had success with that?

  9. Dee says:

I was wondering if you can make this recipe into BBQ beef for sandwiches. Have you tried that? Thanks!

    1. Robyn Stone says:

I’ve not tried that, but it sounds like it would work perfectly!

  10. Jannie says:

I think I will try this with 7up. Looks delish.
