Homemade vanilla ice cream is pretty hard to beat. At least in Little Buddy’s book. It’s his favorite. No elaborate Coffee Almond Fudge or even that Brownie, Butterfinger Chunk I’ve been thinking about since last week.
But I have some good news for you. Well, and for me, too. This recipe for homemade vanilla ice cream serves well as a base to so many other flavors. Just start with this recipe and then add in your favorite mix-ins like cookies, strawberries, blueberries, cherries, caramel, or even this Georgia girl’s favorite, peach.
It’s so easy to make. Six essential ingredients for the ice cream itself, along with ice and ice cream salt if you are using a traditional ice cream churn.
But, one lucky reader won the Cuisinart 2 quart ice cream maker in my Memorial Day Weekend giveaway. Let me just say that y’all blew me away with your response to the giveaway. I truly wish I had one to give each and every one of you!
You also blew me away with all of the fantastic combinations for your favorite ice cream flavors. I plan to work my way through quiet a few of them this summer, trying to figure out just the right recipe for them. For those that I figure out, I’ll surely share the recipe.
So, without further ado, the winner of the Cuisinart 2 quart ice cream maker is comment #415- Jennifer Orenstein.
Congratulations Jennifer! Contact me so we can get your ice cream maker shipped right out to you!
