Cookie Dough Dip!
If you love cookie dough, you are going to absolutely love this cookie dough dip. It just doesn’t get any better in my book! My sister-in-law made the most delicious cookie dough dip a while back for a family birthday. One little bite of her cookie dough dip and I was gone – hook, line and sinker! This time of year, I love to have delicious dip recipes for serving when we get together with family and friends, tailgating events, and the holidays. I knew I needed something in addition to my usual spiced caramel apple dip and immediately knew I’d make this dip, but with a little bit of a change.
Oh my heavens!
It was delicious before with just the chocolate chips, but with the little something-something that I added it is out of this world!
Wanna know what I added?
Toffee bits!
That little bit of crunch and toffee flavor tipped this already delicious dip right on over to out of this world!
I’ve served my cookie dough dip with chocolate graham crackers, honey graham crackers, Ritz crackers, and even some apple wedges. But y’all, this dip would be heavenly just licking it straight off the spoon. You just need a cracker or apple slice to look dignified while you are gobbling it up. So, the choice is really yours on what you serve with this dip.
Here’s how I made it.
Cream together butter and cream cheese.
Add in your confectioner’s sugar.
Next comes your brown sugar.
Vanilla.
Yum!
Toss in your chocolate chips. I personally like to use milk chocolate chips, but you can decide which you prefer the best.
I think dark chocolate chips are my second favorite, followed by semi-sweet.
But go with your favorite.
And then some of these little babies.
They give this dip that extra little bit of something to take it from great to Oh My Stars!!!
Mix it all together until well-combined and then watch out.
I think it is the best cookie dough dip in all the land.
You really do need to make this stuff soon. Do note that it does contain cream cheese and therefore the taste is not like taking a big heaping spoonful of cookie dough from the mixing bowl when making cookies. It does taste out of this world delicious though.
I promise!
Here’s the recipe for my Cookie Dough Dip. You can save print, bookmark, or save, but whatever you do – make it soon!
- 1 8-ounce package cream cheese
- ½ cup butter
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1½ teaspoons vanilla
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1 cup toffee bits
- Cream together cream cheese and butter.
- Add all remaining ingredients and mix until well-combined.
- Serve with graham crackers or apple wedges.
I hope y’all enjoy this cookie dough dip as much as we do. I can’t wait to hear if you do!
Love ya!

Oh my goodness I’m in love w u! Gluten free and delicious?! *sigh*:}
I made this the other night and did not read about the reduced fat cream cheese. Well I bought 1/3 less fat (NOT fat free!) and there were NO issues!
With that in mind, the calories for the whole recipe is 4417. I estimated about a total of 3 1/2 cups made. per tablespoon.. 70 calories. Way less than I thought!
Just made it tonight…super yummy, super rich!
Hello….I live in Australia, do we have something like the toffee bits here? I have never seen anything like it before….Help???
Nicole.
If you can’t find the toffee bits in the baking isle beside the chocolate chips, then you can use a Heath candy bar and just crunch it up!!
Hey I just found this recipe on Pinterest a few days ago and decided to try it last night. I was disappointed that it didn’t taste like cookie dough. Not in the least. I used full fat Philadelphia Cream Cheese, and real butter. It’s good, but it’s not cookie dough.
So sad…..
Tried this for a bridal shower. Was asked to fix it for the reception! Love it!
i suggest serving with vanilla wafers – the vanilla in the cookie really helped masked the final bit of “cream cheese” taste. i also added more sugar and vanilla, small batches at a time, until i got it a little sweeter. i’m not crazy for that cream cheese taste, so i wanted to mask it a bit more. like everybody above, when i brought this to a party people went crazy! i doubled the recipe and it still went!
OMG OMG OMG!!! I love love love love love this. It was perfect for the kids after they played in the backyard with the water hose!
I want to make this tonight and serve it as an “icing” to the brownies I made last night. Go big or go home, right?? Looks sooo delicious!
I made this for the second time tonight and once again it was a hit
thank you so much!
Made this tonight. It was wonderful with chocolate graham crackers! I doubled the recipe and for my family of three, the batch should last us all week. Super good but, VERY rich in flavor. After about four dips, I had to back away from it. LOL But, it’s simple, quick to make, and tasty. I can honestly say, i’ve never once had this before. I will be making this for family gatherings for sure. Thanks!
Made this dip for food day at work today.Every one loved it.No left overs.
So glad you all loved it, Sheila! It has definitely been one of those well-loved recipes around here, too! Thanks so much for letting me know.
I am afraid to make this…..I have trouble backing away from food I love!
dangerously amazing! Thank you!
Just made this and it was delish! It tasted a bit too buttery though. I used salted butter – could that be the culprit?
Omg this cookie dough dip is so amazing! I first had it at my friends house at a forth of july get together. I am 11 weeks pregnant and once I started eating it with apples I could not stop I think I sat in front of the bowl the rest of the night!
Hi Kara! I’m so glad you like it. Congratulations on your baby. How exciting!!! I have to tell you though. I’m NOT 11 weeks pregnant and have been caught a time or two sitting in front of a bowl of that stuff. I have to give it away or I eat it ALL!
This was amazing!! I am making it for my birthday next week. Thank you.
WOW!! this sounds delish!
Thanks! I hope you enjoy it!
THIS WAS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!! Thank you for sharing (:
Yum! I’ve had this on my Pinterest list for way too long, and I finally made it today to take over to a friend’s house for dessert. It was a hit with the adults AND kids! I took animal crackers and chocolate graham crackers for dipping, and I’m still not sure if I like dipping things in it or just eating it by the spoonful better! There were six adults and six kids, and this made plenty for everyone (plus extra that is dangerously sitting five feet away from me in my fridge right now!). Thanks for the recipe – I’ll definitely be making it again!
I’m so glad y’all loved it. It is seriously addictive! I have a variation that I just made that I think you may also like. Actually, it posts in the morning. YUM!
Tastes great with pretzels too!!!!
Soooo easy and addictive!
This stuff was amazing!!!! The toffee bits really made the dip! I’m not a chocolate chip fan so I left those out and added walnuts! So good!!! I tried them with the chocolate graham crackers and it was a little bland so I switched to the apples and man o’ man… Flavor explosion!! So good!! Thx for the recipe!!
I’m so glad you loved it, Marielle. Yes, my favorite thing to eat with this dip is a crisp apple or pears. So, so good!
Couple quick questions. I totally want to make this for a pot luck wondering though. Can it be made the night before and refigerated?? Also wondering I can’t find chocolate graham crackers. Okay to use original graham crackers?
Hi Kim,
Absolutely – it really tastes even better the next day after being in the refrigerator overnight. It gives it longer for all the flavors to meld together. Yes! Regular graham crackers work just fine with this dip. I also like to serve it with apple or pear slices, pretzels, or a Biscoff cookie. Oh my gosh! Now, I’m craving it! Hope you enjoy it!
love this. I used the chocolate toffee bits and added a splash of lime juice and I plain to make this and put it in a graham cracker pie crust for Thanksgiving. Yum
Can I make this ahead of time or does it have to be served immediately? Can I store in the refrigerator and serve cold?
Yes, you can absolutely make this ahead of time and store it in the refrigerator until right before use. I recommend letting it sit out for about 10 minutes before serving to make it a bit easier for dipping. I hope you enjoy it!
Making this for Christmas Eve!! Excited!!
I used 2 cups of powdered sugar as someone suggested and I personally liked it better. I also used Scor bits as I am Canadian an often have to subsitute items as the toffee bits are unavailable here. It turned out great! Thanks for posting.
This dip looks amazing! I guess it doesn’t fit in my nutrition plan (haha!) but anyway, just staring at these beautiful pictures make me happy!
Cheers, Röben
This dessert was amazing. I made it for the first time tonight and brought it to my family get-together. Everyone raved!! I know some commenters said it doesn’t taste like cookie dough, but it’s a cookie dough dip, and the cream cheese will make it not taste exactly like cookie dough. I brought graham crackers and apples, but most just ate it off of a spoon! Yum, yum, yum!!
Is it okay to make this in advance, as long as I store it in the fridge in an airtight container? How long will it stay fresh and yummy? I don’t know if toffee can soften, but I don’t want it to get soggy. Help? Thanks!
Yes, it works fine to make it a day or two in advance. I actually like it better! Hope you enjoy it!
I’m making this for the second time for our SuperBowl party tomorrow… AMAZING!!! Wouldn’t change a single thing!
I have made this twice: once without toffee, and another time with milk chocolate toffee (not the kind you bought). I loved it both ways. My favorite thing to dip in it are Honey Maid Lil’ Squares. They are the perfect size, texture and flavor for the dip (in my opinion). This is a GREAT recipe. Ive tried others but the cream cheese flavor was too prominent and made it a little weird, not with this one though! Perfect blend of all the ingredients. Thank you!
OH MY GOODNESS! I can’t stop eating it! I suggest for the first time if you are making it for someone else or for an event, you better make a batch for yourself to keep at home or you’ll be sorry you didn’t. My favorite dipper for this dip would be apples. YUMMO!
I pinned this AGES ago and am disappointed that I waited this long to make it.
Thank you for sharing!
I will so be making this on Saturday for my daughter’s 17th Spa themed birthday party. Can not wait to try it.
Hi maybe I missed it or overread it but I would like to try to make this but dont see exactly how much butter, cream.cheese and other ingredients to put in exactly. Im not too good at eyeing it out so I would appreciate the help..thanks
what can you recommend to with this dip?
