If you love cookie dough, you are going to absolutely love this quick and easy cookie dough dip.
This time of year, I love having delicious dip recipes to serve when we get together with family and friends, at tailgating events, and during the holidays. It makes a perfect snack or crowd-favorite Southern dessert. I knew I needed something in addition to my usual spiced caramel apple dip and immediately knew I’d make this dip, but with a little bit of a change.
The Best Cookie Dough Dip Recipe
Oh my heavens!
It was delicious before with just the chocolate chips, but with the little something-something that I added, it is out of this world!
Wanna know what I added?
Toffee bits!
That little bit of crunch and toffee flavor tipped this already delicious dip right on over to out of this world!
I’ve served my cookie dough dip with chocolate graham crackers, honey graham crackers and apple and pear wedges. But y’all, this dip would be heavenly just licking it straight off the spoon. You just need a cracker or an apple slice to look dignified while you are gobbling it up. So, the choice is really yours on what you serve with this dip.
Here’s how I make it.
How to Make Cookie Dough Dip

Cream together butter and cream cheese.

Add in your confectioner’s sugar.

Next comes your brown sugar.

Add vanilla. Yum!

Toss in your chocolate chips. I personally like to use milk chocolate chips, but you can decide which you prefer the best.
I think dark chocolate chips are my second favorite, followed by semi-sweet.
But go with your favorite.

And then some of these little babies.
They give this dip that extra little bit of something to take it from great to wow!!!
Mix it all together until well-combined and then enjoy!

I think it is the best cookie dough dip in all the land.
You really do need to make this stuff soon. Do note that it contains cream cheese, so the taste isn’t like taking a big heaping spoonful of cookie dough from the mixing bowl when making cookies. But it does taste out-of-this-world delicious.

Can this be made in advance and refrigerated? Or will it affect the taste or consistency? if it’s ok to refrigerate, should it be served cold or left out to become room temperature first?
Hi Nat! It can definitely be made ahead and refrigerated. That’s actually what I do before parties, etc. Then, just pull out of the refrigerator and allow to reach room temperature for serving, about 10-15 minutes.
Has anyone tried chopped pecans in this?
Oh my goodness, Belle – now that sounds pretty delicious, too!!! Let me know if you try it and how it turns out!

I made this for my family and they love it 🙂 The change we made was to use mini choc chips. It is very addicting and I was told more than once to move it away from someone as they could not stop eating it! lol Thanks for the recipe.
Toffee is probably my favorite thing on the planet, so the addition of that took this already amazing idea into MUST MAKE territory. Except it’s also MUST WAIT until I can make it and immediately give it away, otherwise I will have no problem devouring the whole batch myself!
I don’t like cream cheese, so I had to alter the recipe a bit. It still turned out amazing!
what did you substitute for the cream cheese? i’m curious if there is a *healthier* alternative
Hi. I didn’t substitute anything for the cream cheese and followed the recipe that is included. It’s definitely not a dip you’ll eat everyday – although you might really, really want to.
I made this last night for a party…it was a HUGE hit!!! Everyone was asking for the recipe…I will definitely keep this in my arsonal of recipes!
ohh myyy im gonna surprise the family w this one..if i wanted to do a choc version of this..would i add cocoa powder…and maybe white choc chips???
First time I made it with fat free cream cheese and it came out runny and nasty. Made it again with regular cream cheese and the consistency was much better, still had a distinctable cream cheese Wang taste to it though
I have to say I love the taste, but I also found that it tastes nothing like cookie dough. I was hoping for the cookie dough taste :-/ Looking forward to trying it with some of the great suggestions on here. Was anyone able to make it taste like cookie dough?
So glad you enjoyed it, but hate that it didn’t have that flavor for you.
I LOVE cream cheese dessert dips! When my friend made this the other day I was hooked, couldn’t stop thinking about it. I asked her for the recipe and she sent me your way. I’m so excited to have been introduced to this blog.
PS – I recommend animal crackers for dipping. Yum!
I’m so glad you like it, Laura.
