How to Make Warm Cranberry Pomegranate Cider
This cider has a simple yet scrumptious combination of ingredients.
Here’s what you need to make it:
Ingredients
- Apple Cider – I love to use my easy Homemade Apple Cider. But, I have also used store-bought with great success in a pinch.
- Cinnamon Sticks
- Cranberry Juice
- Pomegranate Juice
- Orange Juice
- Dark Brown Sugar to taste (optional)
- Optional Garnishes – rosemary sprigs and sugared cranberries make the drink even more festive and enticing!
Step-by-Step Instructions
You can make this easy cider by any of these three methods: Stovetop, Slow Cooker, or in a Coffee Urn.
With each of these methods, you’ll add the ingredients and heat for the instructed time. Then keep the cider warm until ready to garnish and serve.
Stovetop Instructions
- Prep. Add cider, cinnamon sticks, and juices to a Dutch oven set over low heat.
- Heat. Simmer for 30 minutes, remove cinnamon sticks and add sugar to taste.
- Serve. Then garnish with sugared cranberries or rosemary, if desired. Serve warm and enjoy!
Slow Cooker Instructions
- Prep. Add cider, cinnamon sticks, and juices to a slow cooker.
- Heat. Set the slow cooker to Low heat for at least an hour. Remove cinnamon sticks and add sugar to taste.
- Serve. Then garnish with sugared cranberries or rosemary, if desired. Serve warm, and enjoy!
Coffee Urn Instructions
- Prep. Add cider, cinnamon sticks, and juices to an urn.
- Heat. Heat until warmed throughout. Add sugar to taste and remove cinnamon sticks before dispensing.
- Serve. Then garnish with sugared cranberries or rosemary, if desired. Serve warm and enjoy!
Storage Tips
To store: Allow the cider to cool, then pour it into an airtight drink container or glass jars. Store in the refrigerator for up to a week.

- 3 cinnamon sticks
- 1 cup cranberry juice
- 1 cup pomegranate juice
- 1 cup orange juice
- dark brown sugar, to taste, optional

This is similar to a recipe my mother used many years ago. It started with boiling cranberries, straining the juice, and then adding citrus and spices. It’s a family favorite: my kids have all asked for the recipe. ๐
I have a similar recipe which is made in a 24-cup coffee pot. ย The cinnamon sticks, brown sugar, and some cloves are put in the basket. ย The juices just perk through until the house smells heavenly. ย And then, you just serve it from the spigot.ย
