Creamy Bacon Ranch Chicken Pasta Recipe

Like I mentioned, this all cooks right in the skillet so that you only have one pan to cook in and one pan to clean. And if you are anything like me, that in itself is a blessing! Easy and so delicious!

How to Make Bacon Ranch Chicken Pasta

To make it, I dice my bacon and onion and cook them until the bacon is crisp and the onion is tender, about 3 minutes or so. Then, remove to a plate and add the seasoned chicken to the skillet and brown both sides. That usually takes about 3 to 5 minutes per side.

Once browned, remove the chicken to the plate with the bacon and onion and slowly stir the half and half in the skillet. Add your pasta and stir to make sure it doesn’t stick. Then, nestle your chicken back into the pasta in the skillet, top with spinach, cover the skillet and cook until the pasta is tender and the chicken has cooked through, about 15 minutes. Finally, add the bacon and onion back to the skillet and grate Parmesan cheese over top of the chicken and pasta and serve.

It is a weeknight wonder!

Ingredients

  • 4 slices thick-cut bacon diced
  • 1/2 medium onion diced
  • 4 - 5 skinless, boneless chicken breasts
  • 2 teaspoons homemade ranch seasoning mix
  • 2 cups half and half
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 (7-ounce) package spaghetti
  • 5 ounces fresh baby spinach
  • Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  • Cook bacon in a medium skillet set over medium heat until the bacon is crispy and the onion is tender, about 3 minutes. Remove to a plate and set aside. Sprinkle both sides of the chicken with ranch seasoning, and add to the skillet. Brown the chicken on each side, about 3 minutes each. Remove chicken to plate with bacon and onions.
  • Stir in the half and half, salt and pepper. Break the spaghetti noodles into bite sized pieces and add to the skillet. Stir to combine. Nestle the chicken into the spaghetti and top with the spinach. Reduce the heat to simmer, cover the skillet and cook until the sauce has thickened, the noodles are tender and the chicken has cooked through, about 20 minutes.
  • Remove the skillet from the heat. Add the bacon and onion back to the skillet and grate Parmesan cheese over top of the chicken and pasta and serve.

  1. So I guess the bacon and onion go back into the skillet along with the chicken? That’s what I did, and it seemed to come out okay. Very tasty.

    1. I’m so glad you enjoyed it Juanita! Yes, you actually add the bacon back on top of the chicken at the end right before adding freshly grated Parmesan cheese. I had that in my blog post, and just corrected to make that step more clear in the recipe itself. I’m sorry for the confusion – but I’m so happy you liked it! Thanks!

  2. In the Creamy Chicken Ranch Pasta recipe you refer to a Homemade Ranch Seasoning Mix. Please post the recipe for thi.s

    1. I’m sorry, Cindy, that the link was not included in the recipe. If you go back into the recipe for the Creamy Bacon Ranch Chicken Pasta, the link to the Homemade Ranch Seasoning Mix is highlighted in blue. Just click on that link to go to the recipe. Thanks. Hope you enjoy!

  3. Hi Robyn! I just made the chicken chili and it was fantastic. This Creamy Ranch Bacon Chicken Pasta recipe is another that I would like to try. Can I use another vegetable other than spinach, or leave it out? My husband is on warfarin and has to watch vitamin K, which spinach is high in. I just discovered you and am thrilled. I hate to cook, so when I find easy recipes with few steps and ingredients, but taste like you’ve slaved over them- the best!

    1. Isabelle, you can just omit the spinach in this recipe. Hope you can find many more recipes your husband can eat and enjoy.
