Cinnamon honey butter makes a delicious addition to so many dishes. From sweet potatoes to a bowl of oatmeal, this cinnamon honey butter compound will be a favorite!
I love the simplicity of making my own compound butters and this cinnamon honey butter has to be one of my favorites. Thankfully, it couldn’t be simpler to whip together or to make ahead and store in the freezer. With football games beginning again and the holidays just around the corner, this is definitely one of those recipes you want to have on the ready for entertaining!
Speaking of which, if you find a great deal on butter, why not go ahead and pick up extra to make your own compound butter like this to keep in the freezer for a special occasion – or just a quick family breakfast. I think you’ll love it! But, fair warning, it does spoil your family to have all the flavor right there in their butter when you begin using it. Ha!
It all begins with a stick of softened butter, a bit of honey, and cinnamon. Three simple ingredients to kick whatever you serve it with up a notch or two.
It is perfect on baked pears or apples, on sweet potatoes, and don’t even get me started about it on a bowl of oatmeal in the morning. One little bit of this butter adds such complex flavor! I just know that you’ll find so many uses for it!
Here’s my Cinnamon Honey Butter Recipe. Make it soon and let me know what you think!

My Mom is a diabetic and regardless of how great they think honey is, it is not for a diabetic. Any other options you can think of?
Kathleen, maybe try a sugar free maple syrup?
Awesome on sweet potatoes, bagels, toast, etc….The uses are endless!
Was amazing
This sounds amazing, so I need to try it! If you want to take the flavor up several notches, try Vietnamese cinnamon in it. It’s the best cinnamon I’ve ever tasted!
I second the Vietnamese cinnamon. I live in the Milwaukee, WI area and get mine from Penzey’s spices. It can ordered from their catalog also.
I just celebrated my 70th Birthday this past AUGUST 20th and still enjoy so much cooking for family and friends and most importantly trying new recipes. The Cinnamon Honey Butter will most assuredly be made soon to used for baked sweet potatoes….which I love.
I don’t always use syrup on my pancakes, I prefer butter and I just know this would be great! You know I’m pinning it!
Definitely need to make this cinnamon honey butter for the next time we have sweet potatoes!
Thanks Robyn for the nice recipe. Toast sounds good to me. Have a great weekend
I hope you have a great weekend, Liz! xo
HOLY BUTTER PERFECTION – I love the thought of this on a sweet potato!
Love it on the sweet potatoes and I would be eating this on everything!
I think you’ll love it on oatmeal and even on warm apples. So, so good!
