This easy Caesar Dressing is rich, creamy, and delicious. A restaurant-quality Caesar salad dressing recipe made at home and ready in minutes!
Caesar dressing is so quick and easy to make at home and tastes so much better than the store-bought bottled option. It and the crunchy croutons give a Caesar salad all of its amazing flavor.
While traditional Caesar dressing is made with olive oil and raw eggs, my recipe is mayonnaise-based. This makes it super simple to whisk together in minutes, lasts longer in the refrigerator, and allows those with egg sensitivities to enjoy it.

Caesar Dressing Ingredients
Be sure to see the recipe card below for the full listing of ingredients, instructions, notes, and estimated nutritional information.
- Mayonnaise – My recipe is mayonnaise-based, allowing it to store longer in the refrigerator and making it easier to make. You can also substitute with your favorite Greek yogurt if preferred.
- Lemon juice – I recommend using fresh lemon juice if possible. The lemon juice brightens the dressing.
- Anchovy paste – My recipe uses anchovy paste rather than whole anchovy filets. This allows the dressing to whisk together more quickly and easily. If you prefer to use whole anchovy filets, add the anchovy filets and garlic to a food processor to make your own paste. Then, proceed with the recipe. You can omit the anchovy paste or anchovies if you prefer not to include them.
- Dijon mustard – Adds a slightly tangy bite and depth of flavor to the dressing.
- Worcestershire sauce – It also adds a depth of flavor to the dressing. Substitute with coconut aminos if sensitive to soy.
- Seasoning – The recipe calls for fresh garlic, salt, and pepper. You can substitute a teaspoon of Stone House Seasoning (my favorite house seasoning blend!).
- Parmesan cheese – I add finely shredded Parmesan cheese to my dressing. You can also add more for serving!

This is my go to Caesar salad dressing. ย So easy and tasty. ย Every time I bring it somewhere they want the recipe. ย I will admit I have only made it with mayonnaise so far. ย Thinking that it would be healthier for you I will be trying it with Greekย yogurt next time….if I remember to buy some at the store!
Glad you enjoy it, Jerry! Thanks!
I did not put in the anchovy paste, just salt. I used the lemon juice but also added a splash of Lemon balsamic to make it more punchy. I made salty proscuitto bits, fried crisp, to put on the salad. I will let people add cheese….some are not big dairy eaters. I used the mayo but added oil as we are grilling the lettuce on a bbq and so want it thinner to spread on the lettuce as it grills. It tastes super!
How many servings does this make?
Perfection! Absolutely the best Caesar dressing I have ever had in my life! I love how quickly it comes together and can be served immediately as well as the freshness and intense flavor.
I’m so happy to hear you love it, Paula! xo

I will never order Caesar salad again in a restaurant when I know the best dressing is in my fridge in a jar! This recipe is amazing. I love it so much I could eat right out of the jar! No joke!! Thank you addapinch!ย
So glad you like it, Laura! xo
so good! super easy to make. didn’t use anchovy but still good.
So glad you liked it, Kristin! xo
Love the dressing! ย Used the anchovy paste and wouldnโt change that at all!! Wondering how long this lasts in the fridge? ย Thanks
I followed the recipe to the T… good but a bit too salty. What can I’ do?
Hi Connie,
Some different brands of Worcestershire sauce and anchovy paste can have more sodium in them than others. That could be the case if your dressing was too salty for your tastes. If you use the same brand ingredients next time you make it, you could taste of it before adding the salt and if it’s salty enough for you, then leave out the 1/4 teaspoon salt – or reduce it a bit. Thanks!
How long will this keep in the fridge?
Hi Julie,
This should last up to 3 days in the refrigerator. Thanks!
