We love to keep hard boiled eggs in the refrigerator. They are perfect for a quick and easy protein-rich snack, to use in salads, egg salad sandwiches, and of course as deviled eggs. One thing I learned years ago is how to cook them in the oven and in the air fryer.

Air Fryer Hard Cooked Eggs

Air fryer hard cooked eggs are so fast and easy to make. I love that I can cook just one egg or up to 12 eggs in minutes.

How to Make Air Fryer Hard Boiled Eggs

To make them, you’ll need eggs, an air fryer, and a mixing bowl filled with ice water.

Preheat the air fryer to 250ยบ F degrees. Arrange the eggs in the air fryer basket, leaving space for the air to circulate between the eggs. Close the basket and set the timer to cook for 15 to 17 minutes depending on your air fryer and desired level of doneness. Note that air fryers aren’t all the same. I recommend testing one egg in your air fryer to determine the preferred cooking time for your specific air fryer.

Remove the eggs from the air fryer and submerge into a water bath (a bowl filled with ice water) to stop the eggs from overcooking. Remove the eggs from the water bath and use immediately or store.

Hard Cooked Eggs in the Oven

Oven hard cooked eggs is a great to prepare a larger quantity of hard cooked eggs. We used this method a great deal when we had a large number of hens on our farm. I continue to use this method from time to time when I need to prepare a larger number of eggs.

Just found out my little one needs 4 eggs tomorrow. Doing this tonight! So excited, whenever I boil the darn things half of them crack. This, my friend, might just be a lifesaver- at the very least a sanity saver!

Well! this is a new one and I am just gonna have to try it for Easter eggs! I cook mine ~ bring a covered pot of eggs/water to a boil and turn them off and let them sit for 30 min. and they are always perfect and no green around the yoke!! …but this one is interesting to say the least!! Happy Easter Robin!!!

  6. Jenny says:

I did this the year before last and it was great. Then last year, I saw an idea to put them into cupcake pans. That made it so much easier to get them in and out of the oven!

I have wanted to try this every since I heard about it, but was too nervous. I mean, eggs are so expensive, right?!? Haha. Why the heck didn’t I ever try it? But now that I know YOU do it and it works, I WILL do it! I’m so egg-cited! ๐Ÿ˜‰

  8. BillV says:

I like to hard cook eggs whenever I fire up my smoker. The last time I had them in at 200 degrees for 4 hours while I was smoking some pork butt. The added smoke flavor gives them a unique taste that my family loves.
