Meal Plan Tips:

Sweet and Sour Meatballs Recipe from Add a Pinch Cookbook // addapinch.com

Sunday:
Sweet and Sour Meatballs with Zucchini: We’ve always loved this recipe of my Mama’s. So it definitely had to go in my cookbook! It can also be served over rice, but I like to serve over zucchini. Any excuse to add another vegetable to supper is a good one!

I make the applesauce used in the recipe ahead of time and refrigerate it. I like to make extra because it is delicious! You can make your meatballs ahead and refrigerate them if you wish. I will prepare the sauce ahead of time and refrigerate it. Then at supper time, I just put it all together and cook. This is a great Leftover Makeover meal on another night and is also Freezer Friendly!

Monday:
Skinny Orange Chicken and Broccoli: It’s easy to make the sauce for this dish ahead of time. I also cut up the chicken breasts ahead sometimes too. Then I refrigerate until ready to cook. I love this fresh, homemade version of this popular takeout dish! It’s so delicious that I certainly don’t want to take out after eating this!

Beef Tenderloin Recipe - Beef Tenderloin makes a special meal that everyone loves. Cooked simply with just a few ingredients, this beef tenderloin recipe is sure to become a favorite. // addapinch.com

Tuesday – New Year’s Eve:
Make-Ahead Appetizers: I’ve shared the complete details in the linked post about making all of these scrumptious appetizers. I love that they are so easy to make ahead of time. They are so perfect to make for any holiday or special occasion!

Beef Tenderloin: In the morning, I will season the beef tenderloin with Stone House Seasoning. Then I wrap it tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate until ready to cook.

Perfect Baked Potato: If you wish, you can make these ahead and reheat. You can also use the slow cooker method or instant pot method.

Best Chocolate Cake Ever: What a perfect dessert to enjoy as we say farewell to 2019! It is delicious made a day before serving if you want to bake it. Just cover it with your cake dome until ready to serve. It’s also so easy to make so that you can whip this up earlier in the day too.

Wednesday – New Year’s Day – Happy New Year!
Southern New Year’s Menu: Many of these dishes are make-ahead and slow cooker. How helpful that it makes them so simple and easy! I will have multiple slow cookers ready to go early this morning (and the Pork Roast will be already cooking from the night before). I am making my Slow Cooker Ham from my cookbook, too, because we enjoy both. I’m using some of the ham for Friday’s supper too. I will make the deviled eggs ahead of time and refrigerate them. The Lemon Pound Cake can be made ahead too!

This meal is a tradition in our family as well as in many other Southern families. It’s a really delicious one too!

Southern Pot Likker Soup //addapinch.com

Friday:
Pot Likker Soup: Be sure to save those vitamin-rich juices from the greens you cook on New Year’s. Save some of the ham, too, because you’ll want both for this delicious soup! If I have some greens left from my New Year’s meal, I will add them and reduce the cooking time per the recipe. If not, I’ll cook more greens according to the recipe.

Southern Cornbread: This is an easy family favorite that only takes 30 minutes to bake. I love it hot right out of the oven!
