Remember my confession a while back when I shared the Air Fryer Mexican Street Corn Recipe about how I had fallen head over heels in love with my air fryer? My husband’s parents had been telling me for well over two years how much I needed one and about their love for their air fryer, but I took my own sweet time to jump in the air fryer game! 🙂

And now that I have, oh me! I’m find all sorts of things to make in it! And you know I’ll share all about it with you guys! Like this Air Fryer Baked Potato. Talk about perfection! I’ve shared before about how I make baked potatoes in the oven, in the slow cooker and even in the Instant Pot, but oh my goodness, I just had to share this easy peasy way in the air fryer as well!

I have the Phillips XL air fryer (affiliate) and an easily fit three to four large potatoes in my air fryer. You’ll want to see how many fit comfortably in yours without over stuffing.

I scrub my potatoes well, prick them with a fork or sharp knife, and then rub them with just a touch of olive oil, about half of a tablespoon total, and kosher salt.

Then I arrange the potatoes in the air fryer basket to make sure that the air can easily circulate all the way around the potatoes.

I set the heat setting to 390º F and set the timer for 30 minutes. At 30 minutes, I open the air fryer and gently press on the sides of the potatoes. If they give really easily, then they are done. If not, I close the air fryer and cook them for up to 10 minutes more.

Once done, you can split them open with a knife and add your favorite toppings: butter, sour cream, chives, you name it! 🙂

Air Fryer Baked Potato Recipe - This quick and easy air fryer baked potato recipe makes a perfect baked potato every time! Tender on the inside and crispy on the outside! 

Ingredients  

  • 4 medium Russet potatoes scrubbed clean and dried
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt

Instructions 

  • Prick each of the potatoes with a fork or sharp knife. Rub the potatoes with olive oil and sprinkle with salt. Then, arrange the potatoes in the air fryer basket, making sure to leave ample room around the potatoes for the air to circulate as the potatoes cook.
  • Set the heat to 390º F and the timer for 30 minutes. At 30 minutes, pull open the air fryer and gently press on the sides of the potato. If it easily yields, the potato is done. If not, return it to the basket and set the timer for up to 10 more minutes. 
  • Split open the baked potatoes with a knife and add your preferred toppings.
