Watermelon Feta Bites Recipe make a favorite appetizer for summer! Juicy watermelon, tangy feta, topped with a balsamic glaze makes a party perfect bite for all your celebrations and gatherings!
Watermelon Feta Bites make one of the easiest little appetizers in the world. And they make the perfect little bite of summer, too.
In just a few minutes, you can have a tray full of these fabulous Watermelon Feta appetizers prepared and ready to serve. But the best part is that they can easily be made ahead of when you need them for your party to make things even easier on you.
How to Make Watermelon Feta Bites Recipe
Ingredients
Be sure to see the recipe card below for the full listing of ingredients, instructions, notes, and estimated nutritional information.
- Watermelon – You will need about 2 cups of cubed watermelon. For special occasions and holidays, you can make the watermelon pieces into your favorite shapes with small cookie cutters such as circles, stars, etc.
- Feta cheese – you will need a block of feta cheese then to cut it into similarly sized cubes as the watermelon.
- Balsamic glaze – Use my easy homemade balsamic glaze recipe or your favorite store-bought.
Optional Ingredients
- Fresh Basil Leaves – add them on top of the feta cheese cubes and between the watermelon. The basil will add a watermelon caprese salad flavor to the appetizer.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Assemble each appetizer bite with two cubes of watermelon and sandwich a cube of feta cheese between them. Refrigerate the tray of these if not ready to serve. Then, right before serving, you drizzle them with balsamic glaze. The combination of flavors is absolutely scrumptious and always makes this a hit at any gathering!
Make Ahead and Freezing Instructions
One of the best things about this warm-weather favorite appetizer is that it can easily be made ahead of time! And when you are planning a gathering or celebration, I find that any make ahead foods help me so much and make things even easier.
To make ahead. Prepare Watermelon Feta Bites without adding the balsamic glaze drizzle. Store in an airtight container or covered with plastic wrap in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Before serving, drizzle with balsamic glaze.
To freeze. I do not recommend freezing this recipe.
And if you’ve seen my watermelon salad with watermelon vinaigrette recipe then you know I’m trying to enjoy my sweet watermelon while I can.

I have always wondered what kind of balsamic glaze to get and where to get it. Any help with this would be great
How do u make the glaze?
Got rave reviews when I served them! I found the feta easier to skewer, without crumbling, after letting it warm up for 15 – 20 min.

Looks great!! How far ahead can you make them?
Hi RC,
I think the watermelon is best when fresh, so I’d probably make it within a few days of serving and refrigerate in an airtight container to maintain freshness. If you refrigerate, I think I’d wait until closer to time to serve to drizzle with the glaze.
Thanks! I hope you enjoy it!
What type of feta do you recommend? I keep trying to skewer and it crumbles.
