A simple recipe for homemade three cheese white pizza that takes ordinary cheese pizza to a whole new level!

This 3 Cheese Pizza recipe makes a delicious addition to any pizza night! So easy to make and everyone loves it! // addapinch.com

Homemade pizza has always been a favorite in our house – especially where Sam is concerned. If I asked him every single night what he’d like for supper, pizza would most likely be mentioned at least once or twice a week. Not that it happens, but still. He loves it.

What I’ve learned through the years is to whip up this pizza loaded up with cheese, cheese, and more cheese to surprise him! The look on his face when he walks into the kitchen is priceless.

It doesn’t hurt that the rest of the family goes nuts over this pizza, too!

For this recipe, I skip using my pizza sauce recipe. Instead, I use ricotta cheese as my base and spread it onto my homemade pizza dough, top it with big hunks of mozzarella and then with parmesan that I grate right over the top. Mercy!

Then, I just pop the pizza into the oven for a few minutes and until the pizza crust is nice and golden brown and the cheese has melted into a glorious layer upon layer of cheesiness.

Once I take it out of the oven, I have to work quickly because all bets are off with fresh, hot pizza at my house! I quickly cut it into slices and then step back to serve it. Of course, I like to serve a huge green salad alongside the pizza and think that so many flavors of dressing compliment it well, but my favorite is balsamic vinaigrette. Yum!

This simple pizza recipe works perfectly for pizza night at home, tailgating with friends and family, or even for entertaining. Just be sure to make extra! It goes quickly!

Here’s my Homemade Three Cheese Pizza Recipe. I think you will go nuts over it!

  • Preheat oven to 500º F. Drizzle olive oil onto a rimmed baking sheet pan or a pizza pan, enough for a 14-inch pizza. Work pizza dough onto the pan. Drizzle additional olive oil on top of the pizza dough. Using a rubber spatula or the back of a spoon, spread the ricotta cheese over the crust, leaving an edge to the dough for the crust. Then top with mozzarella slices and finally with Parmesan cheese. Place into the preheated oven and bake for 13 to 15 minutes, until the pizza crust is golden brown and the cheese have all melted and begin to slightly bubble.
  • Remove from the oven, slice and serve.

Prep time does not include time for the pizza dough to rise as that time is included in the pizza dough recipe.

  1. This pizza looks FABULOUS, Robyn! We love white pizzas at my house, so I am excited to make this! Thanks for this recipe!

  2. Pizza is a staple in my house, I know not totally healthy but we LOVE it. Where I’m from, upstate NY, a white pizza means instead of red sauce they dough is lightly oil then spread with minced garlic & oregano. This 3 cheese one looks awesome! I would add my seasoning though ?

  3. I want to move to your house! I think my husband and I want you to adopt us…

We’ll do the dishes if you feed us your fabulous cooking once a day!

    Your recipes are awesome…!

  4. Oh, yum! Homemade pizza has always been one of my favorite foods, and I’m definitely a cheese lover. I’m going to have to give this recipe a try sometime. That picture looks amazing. My parents used to make pizza every Friday night, and I’m thinking that might be a really fun tradition to start with my kids. Thanks for sharing!

  5. I made this for dinner tonight, and it was a huge hit! The only thing I did differently was to mix some garlic with the olive oil before spreading it on the crust. Also, my son liked a sprinkle of Italian seasoning on top of his pieces, but everyone else liked the pizza as is. Thanks so much for sharing this terrific recipe.

  6. I made this for dinner tonight using fresh premade pizza dough. I added an olive tapenade on the pieces I ate. It needed some seasoning. Otherwise a keeper!

  7. We always love white pizza! We add some garlic to the olive oil, and mild pepper rings on top. Great for these cold winter nights!

      1. Hi –
Fresh mozzarella is definitely delicious, but a good mozzarella from the supermarket will make a wonderful pizza as well! Thanks so much! xo

  8. Can’t wait to make it. Can I put sautéed onions and thinly sliced tomatoes on it? I tried to give it 5 stars but I couldn’t.

  9. OMGosh!!! This was amazing! I roasted a head of garlic ( yes I love garlic ) and added it to the ricotta with a little Parm and yes more garlic pwd and a few slices of prosciutto on top of last layer of cheese. Thank you for Sharing all your amazing recipes!

  10. I have tasted this kind of pizza while we were on vacation in NYC. It’s so delicious. I have tried it with a flat bread you can buy at the grocery. It’s perhaps as delicious as the one you make it with pizza dough however the cooking time is shorter or perhaps you can cook it in the toaster oven. Wah! Lah! Try it.

  11. Robyn,
Have you ever used a cast iron pan to make it deep dish? I am curious if it will turn out like my classic pizza with sauce and cheese… I suppose any creative cook can give it a try right?
