Welcome to another fun Mingle Monday!
Since it’s been so hot outside lately, it’s been fairly easy to convince Little Buddy to help me around the house. While he wasn’t exactly sure he wanted to spend the afternoon last week cleaning out his closet and the rest of his room, he ended up having fun finding things he thought he’d lost. The results are always much better than the process, I think. I’m hoping we remember that as we dig into deep cleaning the playing room next week. {Lego organization ideas, anyone?}
He’s also been quiet the trooper in helping me out in the kitchen, too. He’s my perfect little taste-tester and names off so many of his favorite things for us to make together. Of course, his favorites tend to be on the sweeter side of things, so we have just a wee bit of balance in his requests.
One of his favorite ideas that he came up with are those chocolate chip cookiewiches up there. He told me, “Mama, I really love your cookies and I also really like ice cream. I want to do something with them together.” I didn’t dare tell him that cookiewiches have been around since before I was a little girl. I just let him have fun while he was creating something he liked in the kitchen.
You know, that’s what it’s all about anyway.
I sure hope he grows up to love being in the kitchen as much as I do or at the very least knows his way around the kitchen from our little afternoon adventures.

My littlest guy loves to help me with fun baking projects too. It is always a blast to make things with him! Cookies and ice cream sounds like a great way to beat the heat! Very smart boy you have:-)
you should do a whole lego organization linky party!! i would love ideas! the coolest thing i have seen recently was a train table that the kids had outgrown, so dad repainted it and glued big lego base plates to the top. that way all the legos could go in the drawers of the table when they werent using them, and they had a large play space when they were! now im keeping my eyes open for a cheap train table
Hi! I just found your party today. (I’m #23.) Thanks for hosting! Nice to “mingle” with you!
Great party Robyn, Thanks for hosting. I don’t think any kid in their right mind would mind having one of those ice cream sandwiches especially in the heat my friends to the south our going through.
We cleaned out my son’s closet the other week too. He found so many toys he forgot about, it was great!
Ice cream cookies are one of my favorite treats, I must make them soon.
Thanks for hosting, I linked up a few treats!

I think it’s a great self-esteem booster than you let him create a ‘new’ desert.
